Yayoi Kusama is a Japanese artist and writer. Growing up with an abusive mother, she has experienced hallucinations and excessive thoughts since she was a child. As a precursor in pop art, minimalist and feminist art movements, she has influenced contemporary artists such as Andy Warhol. Many of her paintings and installations focuses on her interest in psychedelic colors.
At the age of 86, Kusama has reverted back to drawings and paintings. Check out some of her work below!
